All Dressed up

As most of you have heard me complain the weather here has been a bit chili lately. Anyway Georgia and Mika just don't have enough fur to keep them warm on trips to the park. I just couldn't get over how cute they looked on our last trip to the park! Mika's shirt is one that Kay bought for Georgia a few years ago and it just cracks me up every time I see it!

A little note about the humans in the family!
As most of you know I have done some interpreting out here at church over the past nine years (with a few breaks in there). Anyway it looks like I will be doing some more interpreting again. For the next four months I will be interpreting at the single adult ward in our stake. Unfortunately the single ward and our ward meet at the same time. As I explained to my primary kids "I can't be at two places at the same time". I am going to miss my primary class very much they are such great kids, but I think interpreting again will be lots of fun too! Hopefully it will be okay for Chad to come with me too, so he doesn't have to go to church alone!

Winter is here again!!!!!

Just when we think it's safe to put away the shovel! This was the scene in my backyard this morning. Can you believe it. I felt like I had slept through 7 months and it was time to break out the Christmas decorations. My poor little flowers are no more, but I'm happy to say that the snow is starting to go away again!

Cards, Cards and Plane Tickets

Another fun and busy week here at the Jewers'.This week I am going to my first card swap and had a blast making all these cards! I can't wait to see what everyone else has made. I also bought my plane ticket for this summer!!!! I am going home!!!! I fly into Halifax on the 7th of August. This will be the first time all 7 kids in my family have all been home together in six years, and best of all nobody's getting married!

Busy weekend

It's not often that Chad and I get a weekend together when there is nothing planned, outside of the two of us. So we thought we would take this weekend to do something out of the ordinary, a little trip up to Banff. We took an eight minute ride up the banff gondola to the top of Sulphur mountain. On the observation deck they tell you how far away you are from different cities and in what direction you would need to go. I found Halifax and was ready to start walking.. but I don't think I would make it to the Easter brunch on time... oh well. chad and I enjoyed the walk over to the cosmic ray station that has been there for nearly 100 years and enjoyed the beautiful view. I still can't believe that Suzie did this walk at about 6 month pregnant last year... what a trooper! The weather was so wonderful we decided to grab an ice cream from cows!!! We almost felt like we were home! That night we joined Tracy and Becca for Dinner and a movie. You would think that Sunday we would have decided to take it easy, but not us we had Tracy and Becca over for a Turkey dinner. What a weekend! We hope you all had a wonderful Easter!

First Signs of Spring!

At Last, a little ray of hope in my garden! It's seems like years ago since I have seen anything green. I'm sure anyone who lives in Calgary would agree that this winter has lasted an eternity. We are usually blessed with little breaks from the snow through out winter, but this year the snow came and never left! I found these flowers blooming in my garden last Friday and did a little dance. There's a little story about these particular flowers too. You see two years ago I got a bunch of bulbs, planted them and waited....and waited... and waited- nothing! So it's a bit of a shock almost two years later to finally see something. I hope you all are seeing little signs of spring too.

Our Family Has Grown

For any one I haven't spoken to in the last week and a half, we have added to our family. No... no babies yet but we have a new dog. Her name is Mika and she is 2 1/2 years old! Her old owner had to move back in with her parents, and give her away. I found the posting on a Tuesday night and by Thursday she was home with us. It's been a little bit of an adjustment for all, but I think we have finally got everyone in a good groove now. She's not as high energy as Georgia, as she has had puppies recently, but she loves to try to keep up with her in the park!
