Summer Fun! Part one

Well it's about time that I filled you all in on the rest of our summer.
To start off we happily played host for two weeks to Chad's parents in July. We all had such a great time, watching parades, climbing mountains riding Gondolas, riding roller coasters and taking road trips. All in all it was lots of fun and a little tiring! Here are a few shoots from when they were here!

10 years and still laughing!!!!!

Well Chad and I just recently celebrated our 10th anniversary, with a little trip to BC. In keeping with most of our plans we make, there were some unexpected changes as we went. We had found a really great deal for two nights in a little Chalet and had planned to do some sight seeing go to the hot springs and just relax. Unfortunately after a three hour car ride we were surprised to find out that the town the chalet was in had the main water valve in town burst that morning, and the girl at the front desk advised us to find somewhere else to stay! What a shock! We drove around for about an hour before we decided what are new plan would be. We found a hotel that was supplying their guests with bottled water and decided to cut our trip to just one night.

So on the morning of our actual anniversary we woke up in a very beautiful place ordered room service and packed the car up again. We did stop and do a few things in Radium before we left. First on our to do list was go to the "crazy house".

This is a house that a man lives in, uses as a studio for his wood carvings and let's people pay three dollars to tour it. Let's just say after our unplanned changes Chad and I were not so crazy about our trip however this place really saved the whole trip for us. Here is a little bit of the video from our tour. There was a great surprise for us when we started touring his yard!

After the crazy house we took a dip in the hot springs and did a little sight seeing. The hot springs were great right in the middle of two mountains, such a pretty spot. While walking too the springs we found lots of wild daisies growing on the side of the road, and I had to stop and get my picture taken with them, as on the morning of our wedding my mom and I had picked wild daisies to go on the tables at our reception.

All in all I think this will be an anniversary that we will never forget.

Tuesday night Tire Troubles

Well my night started of pleasant enough. On Tuesdays Carl comes over to hang out with me. Tonight we had a special project we put together a wooden fighter jet. No easy task let me tell you but we both liked it and I am sure anyone would agree that the final product looks pretty impressive!

As I was getting ready to leave the Days home Sharon and I were talking by the back of the car, when Sharon asked what was sticking out of my tire. What a surprise there was a long metal nail (I think) sticking out of the sidewall of the tire. Sharon started to pull it out and then decided that it may go in a little too deep so we should get Paul to have a look. I am so glad we did! Paul pulled it in and I think it must have gone 1 to 2 inches into the tire, and when it came out you could hear a loud hissing. Any of you that do not know Paul, he has a business that supplies tire repair products and machines. I couldn't have had this happen a better place. Paul quickly went and got some stuff to fill the hole. unfortunately because the hole was in the side wall it didn't work soooo.... Paul needed to take the tire off my car. It just so happens that recently Paul had bought a machine that can take tires of rims and balance them and a whole lot more I'm sure. Anyway after some time he was able to fix my car and send me on my way. I am so thankful to have such great friends that can really help you out of a tight spot. I can only imaging me getting stuck on Deerfoot with a flat! Not a pretty picture.

Confession of a procrastinator

Okay, so I am a terrible blogger. It seems like a simple enough idea to sit down once a week and write a little something and attach a photo, but somehow life always seems to get in the way! Anyway I thought I would put up a funny video of Georgia and Mika in their pool. It has been a little warm lately, and they will not play in the backyard unless they have the pool set up! Carl and his cousin were over for a visit on the day we filmed this. Sorry about all the naration I don't seem to be a ble to help my self!

Update Number 1

I think this may take me a few sittings to get up to date with what we have been doing for the last month. Well as my last post stated my wonderful Mom has been and gone. We had such a great visit with her that I seriously thought about keeping her here against her will. If I didn't think that Dad, David and Ally would have been upset she would still be here. She really earned her keep, as I had to work five days while she was here, she reorganized my kitchen, my Tupperware cupboard ( that was a really job alone) and my linen closet. Not only did she do all that but she also came to work with me and did a days worth of work for me, cutting and re cutting pages to go into a communication book for us to demo to classes. Mom that book has been out twice already, Eleanor and I still talk about how great it was that you did that. We had a nice long weekend at the end of her visit and I took an extra personal day to spend with her. I think we really tried out the saying shop till you drop as we hit the church bookstore, the distribution center, Crave (my favorite cupcake place) and IKEA twice! On Mom's last day here we thought it would be fun to take her to the zoo, we thought it would tire her out and make it easy for her to sleep on the plane. Boy were we wrong, sure she was tired but all that walking made her legs jumpy for the flight. Sorry Mom! Well all in all it was so great to have her visit, I wish we could see each other every weekend... wouldn't that be fun!

Mom Hard at work at the office, she got to go to a business lunch that day too!
Yummy cupcakes

6 MORE SLEEPS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

For anyone who hasn't heard, My Mom is coming to visit on Saturday. I just can't wait. The last time my mom was out here was 5 years ago. This is a much needed visit too, it's amazing that no matter how old you get you will always need your Mom (and Dad too! :-D). I think it will be the first time in 8 years that I will see my Mom on Mother's Day.

All Dressed up

As most of you have heard me complain the weather here has been a bit chili lately. Anyway Georgia and Mika just don't have enough fur to keep them warm on trips to the park. I just couldn't get over how cute they looked on our last trip to the park! Mika's shirt is one that Kay bought for Georgia a few years ago and it just cracks me up every time I see it!

A little note about the humans in the family!
As most of you know I have done some interpreting out here at church over the past nine years (with a few breaks in there). Anyway it looks like I will be doing some more interpreting again. For the next four months I will be interpreting at the single adult ward in our stake. Unfortunately the single ward and our ward meet at the same time. As I explained to my primary kids "I can't be at two places at the same time". I am going to miss my primary class very much they are such great kids, but I think interpreting again will be lots of fun too! Hopefully it will be okay for Chad to come with me too, so he doesn't have to go to church alone!
